Chapter 4
Brooks Belhart

I reflected on this in summary for my daughter Cassidy and the life lessons she will endure. I want her to know that I will always protect her like I have always tried to protect others. She needs to know that I am here for her at anytime in life and that she can always count on me.

There are many things in life that will bring you down, but you must always react in a positive manner to get back up.

”Be strong Cassidy” is what I will always continue to tell her.

I watch her play and see life in her that I once saw in myself. I let negative things take control of my life and I want her to see that as a great mistake. She needs to realize that she is also beautiful and will get attention from others. But I want her to know that she needs to protect herself; that is something I wish I had done. The mistakes I have made in life are ones that I want Cassidy to learn from.

Women are always looked upon as underneath men. I believed that. Cassidy needs to see herself as an equal and be patient. Being patient will bring a person great things in life and that is something I will always instill in Cassidy.

One thing I had a major problem in was putting myself into bad situations. As I have stated numerous times, I have put myself in those situations. Think before you act so that memories like the ones I have created never come about. I have never really seen the light shine bright in my eyes. Maybe this is because I have never put myself in a situation to see that light, that great look into a beautiful future.

Keep a look out for that light Cassidy and when you see it step into it.
