Introduction
Meyada Mohamed

Moving to a different country is hard enough, but moving to America is even harder. It seems like all the preparation and paper work is so much more that it drains all the energy a person has. People really have to have strong nerves and know how to deal with people without wanting to hurt them. The people that were preparing our documents were ridiculous with their demands and they had us coming back over and over.

We moved here from Bulgaria so when we arrived here my family and I were definitely surprised about some things. In Bulgaria, for instance, the school systems are very different. We would have only half day school days and we would either go to school in the morning or in the afternoon and every day we would have different subjects. Also, the way we were used to live was different. We lived in apartment buildings like in New York City and we would have houses away from the city and people would go to their houses on weekends to take in some of the fresh air.

Even with all the differences between both we learned to adjust. I think that even after all these years we still have to learn to adjust to the weather especially in the summer.
