Introduction Samantha Bryan
The Life In A Catholic School is a combination of three different stories that I actually experienced during my years at Alpha. "Convent of Mercy Academy," "Physical Education," and "Graduation Day" are themes I created to illustrate what it was like going to a Catholic school.
"Convent of Mercy Academy" is about what the school actually was and what people thought it would be. In this essay, I give a deeper description of what Alpha really was like than in the other two essays. I speak of some of the pass events held at the school. Many people think that being a Christian School means having no fun and being bored by the teachings of the Sisters, but nothing was quite so. For example, there was the day class 103 glued Miss B. to the chair and how the entire school almost got into trouble.
In "Physical Education," I speak of how I took great advantage of swimming lessons for PE once I had found out the school had a pool. It was always a desire for me to learn how to swim and finally I got the chance to. Even though it was almost like a competition, since everybody in my class wanted to do swimming and the instructor only wanted twenty-five students in his class. I discuss various swimming techniques taught and an almost tragic accident because another girl was carefree.
In the final essay, “Graduation Day,” I illustrate how I began reminiscing on previous years I had spent at Alpha. As I walked down the aisle with my fellow classmates, I began to face great pain when I realize what was about to happen.
