In early American history, I often ask students to write a poem from the Puritan mind set.

"Oh Bowling Alley"

by Laura Kaluzny

Oh bowling alley,
You are so much fun with the black lights on,
Your pins shimmering in the bright white lights,
Lanes so smooth, oily and made of wood,
Music blaring from the sweet sound system,

Oh bowling alley,
You can bring so much fun,
I mean you have your own radio station,
With your own music,
And so much fun,

Oh bowling alley,
Where can you be?
I looked everywhere for you,
But you can’t find me!
So where can you be?

Oh bowling alley,
I found you at last,
And I am ready for some fun,
Turn on your black lights,
And watch me bowl!

I liked your bowling poem :-) it made me smile
Bowling is fun -morning noon or night,
Rolling with your hand either left or right.
If the ball glows it must be at night,
Whether your average is high or low,
I never met an alley I did not like -bowl.
